So here are the winners and runner-up entries who we will arrange to meet to deliver your prizes. Well done eveyone and congratulations to the winners! Veterans return from 2000 mile in 48 hr charity ride…The arrival of the The Household Division Motorcycle Clubveterans was a welcome sight and the team who completed a 2000 mile journey, starting in Llandovery on Armed Forces Day on Saturday 30 June 2018, then travelling to John O’Groats and then on to Lands End before returning to Llandovery was an amazing achievement and commitment. At the last check, they had raised £645 which was raised to support the Llandovery Motorbike Weekend. You can still contribute to their fund by clicking the following link. Thank you lads, you did us proud!
NISA musicrocks ourAce Cafe stage…The NISA ‘Ace Cafe’ music stagewas a big hit with visitors andexhibitors. First artist was William from‘The Excuses’ who stepped in for his bandat the last minute and the young man didhis mates and us proud. His mix of coversand some he had written provided a niceblend of music which set the tone for theday.Next we had Rookery Lanewho also delivered a selection of covers and quality written and arranged numbers from their album ‘Scrapbook’ (currently on sale - click here). For a band undertaking their debut gig, they ‘really’ did well. Their rich and textured sound was well received and I’m sure now they have their first gig under their belt, they will be playing locally very soon.
Following Rookery Lane was local band ‘The Sliders’ who delivered a full cover set and the lads looked as if they were having fun. Again a quality sound and a range of modern and classic covers from the ‘Stones to The Killers’. The lads I‘m sure will get plenty of work, keep an eye out for them locally they are not to be missed - thanks lads!
Blood BikesWales benefitfrom Nisadonation…Blood Bikes Wales were presented with a cheque for £500 from Nisa Local, a donation I am sure they will put to good use. Thank You very much all at Nisa Llandovery for your great support!
Nisa Ace Cafe StageJack Sunday…Our Sunday began with the talents ofDan Stockton, a solo artist from Swansea.Dan’s set was littered with some greatclassics and his performance was veryprofessional in delivery and a rich qualitysound. Dan has a great future in thebusiness and at just 17 stunned those whocaught his lunchtime spot. Dan is off next to the London Buskers Competition and on behalf of everyone at the event we wish him the best of luck. I am sure if both Dan and Will continue their musical journey, we are sure to hear these young talented lads again in the future, perhaps next on a much bigger stage!and the jacks continue…Yes, I guess you can call it ‘Jack Sunday’ asanother import fromSwansea arrive and beltout a range of classicnumbers from the 60’sand 70’s. Mockingbird afive piece rock bandflew through their set in the baking heat but were cool with their harmony filled classic rock covers. Normally playing holiday parks and clubland, this was their first festival and they really enjoyed their experience.
May we take this opportunity to thank all our artists and bands who gave their time free of charge to support this event.
